The Fossil Store e-Commerce

From day one on this project we knew that this web shop would need to have a character of it’s own, helping it to appeal to fossil enthusiasts across the world. We’d never had a factory tour that featured pre-historic bear skeletons and wooly mamouth tusks before, so working out how to promote these online was certainly a challenge. From dinosaur fossils, ammonite fossils, fish fossils and nautilus fossils to echinoids and asteroids, fossilized wood, flora and fauna – you can buy all kinds of ancient archaeological treasures online on this beautifully styled e-commerce shop.

The brief

The Fossil Store had previously operated a catalogue website, which augmented a successful eBay campaign. With the increase in listing fees and a broader international market, a more effective long-term solution was called for.

Launch date

Spring 2009.

Testimonial

The site now takes regular orders from the UK and overseas. An aggressive PPC and SEO campaign has increased visitors and we're looking forward to the future.
