Door4 are a busy, efficient digital agency, based in Nelson, Lancashire. We have over 10 years experience designing, delivering and maintaining effective websites, delivering email marketing programmes, and providing ongoing SEO, promotion and conversion works.
We are looking for a creative, motivated web designer to join us.
Our ethos is based on work which delivers positive outcomes, and this shows in our loyal client base who span legal, professional, property and retail sectors.
We are a tight team of 12 in our Lancashire studio, working across a range of creative, technical and marketing disciplines.
Role definition
The web designer is responsible for the creative design and production of website visuals, taking client creative brief and resources, and turning this into a visually stunning website.
The candidate will be able to work to a variety of production methods, from creating initial visual mock-ups, to building CMS-driven templates, exceeding expectations every time.
The candidate will be intimately familiar to the point of obsession with usable and inspirational web layouts, with intricate attention to detail.
Typography, grid systems, image post-processing are all core elements of the job. Photography, video and other creative skills are useful and would provide a positive advantage.
Reporting to the studio manager, the role is primarily creative, although additional technical and creative skills would be useful, but secondary to the creative process.
Ideally, you will have at least 2 years experience in a creative web role.
Key tasks
- Production of visual website wireframes and mockups to meet client brief
- Direct liaison with client to establish creative brief
- Development of supporting creative assets
- Creation of email marketing templates
- Production of visual assets, eg corporate identity elements, logos etc.
- Working with colleagues to establish creative direction

Hours of work
39.5 hours per week, based at our Nelson office (BB9 9BT).
Monday-Thursday 9.00am – 5.30pm Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
21 days holiday in year one, rising to 23 days in year three. (Plus Bank Holidays)
